Everyday I ask myself why sorrow is part of the ride
Why anguish and adversity are part of our lives
And why is it sometimes life throws us
A great big slap in our spirit
Is the reason 'cause we mostly pretend to love one another

Tell me why is pain and suffering a nessesary evil
Why do babies die and make their mothers cry God I'm wondering why
And why do men kill other men just because they're a little different
When the heart of God's plan is to laugh and to love one another

Is it just a fantasy and is living in love not meant to be
We've been fighting and fussing and drowning in blood since the world began
If we erase pretenses come to our senses
Maybe the creator will see
That we've finally discovered how we all need to love one another

We must learn to behave in a neighborly way and say I love you

Reach the goal of God's plan holding hands and to love one another
