It’s Christmas Eve and once again our anxious hearts await
The birth of morning light to shine upon the Son
Who’s come to fill our hearts with love and make our lives live great
With relief from sin -- God’s gift -- the chosen one

A fireplace with flicking flames will warm our toes tonight
A hearth with lesser heat than in our hearts
Our love will warm us up again to set our spirit right
As the silence calms the wind for this new start.

Before we fall asleep tonight and drift into a dream
